Al Marzouq Mosque
Refined contemporary twists touching traditional interior elements, textures and compositions of the mosque. The concept started with traditional handmade Azulejos ceramic tiles from Huelva, Spain, and developed into uniquely designed chandeliers based on concentric brass-tinted metal circles with crystals and the grand element of mahrab. The solid stone-clad base of mahrab is overhung by the curtain like double-layered perforated metal mesh with finest calligraphy in between. The two-plus-one layered metal curtain creates more effect and an unpredictable, refined writing’s appearance, changing with the angle of the view.
